द्वितीय विश्वयुद्धमा नेपाल
द्वितीय विश्वयद्धताका जुद्धशमशेर नेपालका प्रधानमन्त्री थिए । उनले अङ्ग्रेजी फाैजमा रहेका गाेरखाली फाैजमा एकएक हजार जवानको थप गरि नयाँ रेजिमेन्ट रिक्रुट(नयाँ भर्ना) गर्न दिने घाेषणा गरे । यसको साथै नेपालबाट अाठ हजार सेना बहादुरशमशेरकाे कमान्डमा भारत पठाए । यसरी सरकारीस्तरबाट बाहेक युद्धकालमा बृटिसले भारतमा करिब एकलाख नेपाली वीरहरुले बेलायतको सर्वोच्च पदक भिक्टोरिया क्रस र मिलिटरी क्रस प्राप्त गरे । नेपालले युद्धमा सहयोग गरेबापत ब्रिटिस सरकारले जुद्धशमशेरलाई ब्रिटिश फाैजकाे पूर्ण अनररी जर्नेलकाे उपाधि दियो क्रम पनि यथावत नै राख्यो । द्वितीय विश्वयुद्धमा लड्न गएका नेपालीहरुले विदेशमा भएको विकास र प्रगतिदेखि नेपालमा प्रजातन्त्रको स्थापनाका लागि सहयोग गरे ।
नेपाली फाैजले पनि विभिन्न माेर्चाहरुमा अङ्ग्रेजहरुकाे तर्फबाट जर्मन तथा जापानीहरुकाे विरुद्धमा युद्ध गरेका थिए । यश युद्धमा नेपाली फाैजले साइप्रस, ग्रिस, सिरिया, लेबनान, प्यालस्टाइन, इराक, सिङ्गापुर, मलाय तथा बर्मामा बडो बहादुरीका साथ युद्ध गरेका थिए । यस युद्धमा भाग लिन दुई लाख पचास हजार नेपाली फैज पठाएकामा सात हजार पाँचसय चवालीस युद्धमा मारिए वा हराए र तेइसहजार छ सय पचपन्न जना घाइते भए । त्यस्ता घाइतेहरुमध्ये कति त बाँकी जीवनमा केही गर्न नसक्ने गरि अपाङ्ग भए ।
English Translation:-
Nepal in World War II
Juddhashamsher of World War II was the Prime Minister of Nepal. He announced that he would allow a new regiment to be recruited by adding one thousand men to the vacant posts in the English army. In addition, 8,000 troops were sent from Nepal to India under the command of Bahadur Shamsher. Thus, apart from the government level, during the war, the British received about one hundred thousand Nepali heroes in India, the highest medals of the United Kingdom, the Victoria Cross and the Military Cross. Due to Nepal's assistance in the war, the British government gave Juddhashamsher the title of Full Honorary Journal of the British Army. Nepalis who went to fight in the Second World War helped to establish democracy in Nepal through development and progress abroad.
The Nepali army also fought against the Germans and Japanese on behalf of the British in various fronts. In the Yash War, the Nepali army fought valiantly in Cyprus, Greece, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Singapore, Malay and Burma. Two hundred and fifty thousand Nepalese were sent to take part in this war, but seven thousand five hundred and forty-four were killed or lost in the war and twenty-three thousand six hundred and fifty-five were wounded. Some of the injured became disabled for the rest of their lives.
