हरेक राष्ट्रका लागि पर्यटनको ठूलो महत्त्व हुन्छ । नेपालमा त पर्यटनको ज्यादै ठूलाे महत्त्व छ किनभने याे देश प्राकृतिक तथा भाैगाेलिक दृष्टिले समेत अत्यन्तै अाकर्षक छ । पर्यटन-उद्योग वा व्यवसाय सञ्चालन गरि थुप्रै विदेशी मुद्रा अार्जन गर्न र देशको अार्थिक स्तर समुन्नतशील बनाउनमा समेत यश व्यवसायले ठूलो याेगदान पुर्याएकाे छ ।
भू-भैतिक अायामका हिसाबले नेपाला सानै भए पनि यहाँ पाइने प्राकृतिक वस्तु, प्राकृतिक सम्पदाहरु वन-जङ्गल, खाेला-नाला, पशु-पक्षीहरु अादिका कारणले नेपाल सम्पन्न भएकाले पर्यटनका लागि यी चिजबिजहरु महत्त्वयुक्त हुँदा त्यसले पनि यहाँ यो व्यवसाय फस्टाउने प्रबल सम्भावना छ । नेपाल पर्यटन व्यवसायका रुपमा पर्यटन उद्योगकाे विकास गर्न सकेमा यसको भविष्य समुज्जवल रहकाे छ । वर्तमानमा विश्वका राष्ट्रले अाफ्नाे अार्थिक-भाैतिक उन्नतिका लागि यस व्यवसायलाई मुख्य अाधार मानेका छन् । संसारका अविकसित र विकसित दुवै खालका देशहरु पर्यटन उद्योगकाे विकासमा रुचि लिने गर्छन् । त्यसैले पनि नेपालमा यस उद्योगको ठूलो महत्त्व छ ।
